We are encouraged to enter into the rest of God. To enter into the sabbath, as we know that the finished work of Christ is now our work and the work that we enter into was accomplished on our behalf. We receive Christs reward for the work He did on our behalf.
It is by grace that you have been saved. God’s favour and life working in us by the Holy Spirit. It was Christ who was grace. He is the finished stone, the temple of God is now you.
“This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” – Zechariah 4 : 6-7 – God lives and moves in grace, it is grace that establishes his Kingdom. The Old Testament law that was given in the cloud on the mountain at Sinai to Moses, has been made obsolete. What was raised at the mountain has become a plain. The temple of God, his dwelling place amongst me, is all in and through grace. It is established in the finished work of Christ.
The limitless power of the good news of Christ’s finished work. We have been made holy and righteous in Christ Jesus. What was lost has now been restored in Jesus. It is done, it is a completed work in Christ. We now can enter into the presence and glory of God, every barrier that hindered us has been taken down, we are now living in all that Christ accomplished, once and forever.
When the kingly and priestly offices are rightly joined, there is harmony between the natural and the supernatural. The supernatural is now in fact natural. Heaven has been reconciled to Earth. Everything that was lost by Adam in Eden has been restored and renewed at the cross through Christ.
The authority of heaven has been transferred to the Church. All authority in heaven has been given to us on earth. We are now seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Our role as priests is to declare a word of reconciliation between heaven and earth. This is our priestly role, Christ has stood in the gap and we are now in the finished work of Christ. The world is awaiting to hear this message, a message that God has died for mankind and as mankind so we can rise with him in resurrection life.
The whole of history has an underlying message which is that God has intended that his people would be “a shop window to the world.” So that the world would come to know the love and goodness of God. Paul in 2 Corinthians explains it in these terms – Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
A Kingdom of priests that would radiate the glory of God through their lives. That the world would see the glory of God. That God would manifest and work through his people in power. That the same power that created the universe would work through this kingdom. That this Kingdom was beyond time, had defeated sin and overcome death. It is an eternal kingdom, a kingdom without end.
