Sometimes it helps to refresh our minds and focus our thoughts on the extravagant grace of God.
Here are ten verses that I have found helpful (you may want to choose other verses that are more relevant to you). It is good to speak out these verses and not just read them, as this helps to establish them in our hearts and mind.
This is not a formula but a great tool to connect with the truth of who we are in Christ.
“In your presence is the fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures evermore.” Psalm 16:11
“For you are a fountain of life, the light by which we see.” Psalm 36:9
“For you are great and do wondrous things, you alone are God.” Psalm 86:10
“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty saviour. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” Zephaniah 3:17.
“We have received God’s spirit so that we can know the wonderful things that God has freely given us.” 1 Corinthians 2:12
“All glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:20.
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strentgth. “ Philippians 4:13
“For you have died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7.
“Greater is he that lives in you, than he than he that is in the world.” 1 John 4:4
With every new understanding of Christ’s fullness that is given to us, we start to open ourselves up to living in the blessings he has provided by his grace. Sometimes nothing has appeared to have changed in our circumstances or in our lives, but our mind, body and emotions have started to acknowledge the truth of God and we have started on a journey of discovery into the promise land of God’s unmerited favour.
